CASA in Action Congratulates Ben Jealous and other Winners in Tuesday's Election

SILVER SPRING, MD (FRIDAY, JUNE 29, 2018) – CASA in Action extends its deepest congratulations to former National President & CEO of the NAACP Ben Jealous, who secured the Democratic nomination for governor last Tuesday with a decisive margin along with all CASA in Action-endorsed candidates who will now head to the general election in November.

 

Jealous' victory comes after more than a year of campaigning, in which he received nearly 40 endorsements from labor unions, progressive leaders and organizations including CASA in Action.

 

“We believe Ben will bring the voice of working families, immigrants and all those who have felt attacked and been left out of the Trump agenda, reflected in Maryland by its current Republican governor,” said CASA in Action President Ben Jealous. “

 

From old friends like Deni Taveras to rising stars like Cory McCray, from a huge step forward in diversity with Will Jawando and Gabe Albornoz to Latina leaders in education like Karla Silvestre, CASA in Action endorsed leaders won across regions and levels of government to provide voice to the lives of our members when it counts.
