Towards a more inclusive and welcoming Commonwealth,

CASA in Action Primary Candidates Win Big,

Head to the General Election on November 5

Woodbridge, VA - Knocking on 22,577 thousand doors of and making thousands of calls to infrequent voters and people of color within five weeks, CASA in Action helped catapult to the General Election another wave of candidates that reflect our community values. If these candidates succeed this November, they will significantly contribute to the political transformation of Northern Virginia.

“With an emphasis on infrequent voters of color, we urged voters in Fairfax County, Prince William County and Loudoun County to be active participants by electing candidates who are committed to advocating for living wages, immigrant justice and great schools for all children,” expressed Luis Aguilar, Virginia Director of CASA in Action, the region’s largest immigrant rights electoral organization.

“15 of our 19 candidates won tonight. These victories are connected to the demographic shifts that the Commonwealth is undergoing, impacting elections for years to come. Tonight’s results show that we can reach the voters who will choose a progressive vision for our future,” concluded Aguilar.
